Not Best Buy :( I learned the hard way the day I got my 500d, I was desperate to start shooting and paid $80 for my sandisk 8gb.. Check out B&H for some decent prices, along with Newegg and you might even be able to pick up some from Costco. Also Amazon is pretty good. Rule of thumb right now I'm seeing $5.00/gb

I bought an 8GB Extreme III NIB off of Amazon for around $40 recently. They are also fairly cheap on ebay and come up on the buy/sell forum here and on Fredmiranda.com every once in a while.

Be very careful about ordering any cards off of eBay, I order all mine from Amazon. It isn't always the cheapest, but because I avoid tax, and receive free prime shipping, most of my purchases are through them. I'm not sure of stores in the UK and how all that works though, but I'd imagine amazon.co.uk or something would offer competitive pricing.

yeah and so is just saying 'the internet' There are so many places to get stuff over here where in the UK its a case of going to one of a few different places. Thus internet searches are slightly harder here. Plus I dont know what shops are legit and what are not.

I got an 8gb from Radioshack for $22 though.
