Kill yourself please. I just buy my T1i, and then this comes out. :( It seem sooo much more capable.

It's not so chill =) It doesn't really add much unless you must have selectable video frame rates. The other things are not that major.

Well noise reduction is said to be better. I'm tired of having to post-process my pictures just to get a shot like this, which in my opinion, still looks bad:

That looks like you pushed your PP a bit too far so noise will become an issue no matter what body you use. Since you are PP'in, you might aswell NR while you are at it.

To be honest, new products are going to come out pretty often, nothing you can do to stop it. Then you have to look at it this way, you wait for a T2i, then a litle while later something better comes out. Its always going to happen.

Why not just sell what you have and then save up and make the move?

I would, but I'm planning on keeping all of my equipment. :\

Well I would stick with what you have then and just move to a xxD or xD body later down the line. ;) You know you will want to sooner or later.

Am I the only one who does not desire a xxD body coming from a xxxD? Maybe I'm weird, but it is xD or nothing for me at this point =P

QUOTED IMAGE

You like whacked out saturation and general over processed images? Yikes

Anyway, the t2i looks to be aimed at people who want their cake and eat it too.

Yep. I'm not very good at post processing, haha.

Works for me. I can inexpensively recover reach I lost going full frame.
Owning a 5Dmk2, the 7D was too expensive to add but this new camera is just perfectly priced and has the features I need.

Just a little back story for you.

With each successive new Rebel or XXD camera the initial news has always been a quantum leap in noise reduction at high ISO. The internet hype typically cites 'about one stop better'.

I've used a Rebel XT, XTi, 20D, 30D, 40D and a little experience with a 50D. IMO the XT is about a half stop worse than the rest which are all about the same. According to the hype though the 50D should be 3 to 4 stops better than the XT (i.e., ISO1600 on the 50D looks like ISO100 on the XT).

Wait a few months for people to get the cameras and really use them.

im with you to. My 500D is just fine for what i shoot. I can shoot wildlife and landscape just fine with it. The IQ is just as good as the XXd series and i dont need faster burst speed. Im also used to useing just the center focus point so i wouldnt really gain there either. The plastic body feels fine to me and the battery grip gives it that extra grip space and weight i need.

Im not even remotly thinking of upgrading but if i did it would either be a 7D or full frame.... Im getting more into landscapes these days so prob full frame. Either way im perfectly happy with what i have.

As for the 550D the jpegs will just have better in camera processing. The RAW files im betting will look almost identical to the 500D. Seeing as i always shoot RAW jpeg quality isnt even a concideration for me.

The only advantages i really see of the 550D over the 500D is the video options (i havnt even used the video on my 500d yet) and the HDR capabilities and i dont shoot HDR. Basically its a nice camera but i would gain no real advantage from it over my 500D.

Quadwing i suggest you learn to shoot RAW and process noise away yourself as you can get stella results. That shot you took was at 800 ISO

These shots are from my 500D (T1i) With budget lenses.

Never had to go over 1600 ISO yet but im sure i can get usable results from 3200 as well.

Also dont trust these images you see from the beta models. Wait until the camera has been released for you see any real ISO comparisons.

In the world of electronics, this is inevitable.

The T1i was announced a few months after I bought my XSi, and I felt annoyed. But don't fret - your next camera probably won't be a rebel anyway, and the T2i doesn't look like it offers a whole lot more other than a higher MP count (which isn't desirable for me anyway, since me computer is slow as hell).

I'm perfectly happy with the IQ from my XSi - I've taken some beautiful pictures with it that would probably look exactly the same had I taken them with a T1i or T2i.

Has Canon finally shaped the grip for adult hands, or is it still sized for 8 year old girls?
