Here're a few BIF shots I took during my stay in Finland two weeks ago. It was the coldest winter in Helsinki (-15 to -25 degree C)for a long time and I was lucky (or unlucky) to be there. :). I was using 7D with 70-200mm F/4 lens.

Nice crisp shots, though it is a shame about some of the fussy backgrounds. Perhaps try to get them in more open or natural surroundings

Thanks for the advise. I will take note of that. :)

Though it looks sunny but the temperature in Helsinki was about -15C with wind. It was almost unbearable for someone who lives near equator.

Great in flight shots but like Art says, too bad about the buildings for a background in a couple of them.

Nice shots and nice to see some photos from my neighborhood! Also thanks for posting settings from your camera.

Hope you liked your visit here. It's being said that this winter is 30-year record for Helsinki what comes to the amount of snow.

Beautiful shots. The 7D must do very well at tracking as my 450D would lose the bird with the background interference.

Thanks medianedustaja! It was tough with the weather initially but I got used to it after a few day and was really fascinated by the beautiful white scenes from Helsinki to Espoo. I will back again to Helsinki next month for another business trip and hopefully the weather will be more pleasant and warm then.

Thanks Don1. The 7D is certainly doing good at tracking and once I got the custom functions set accordingly, it is quite excellent tracking even with busy background. Best for BIF photos. :D

I really suggest you to go to the Seurasaari then. It's small island with full of tame squirrels and birds. Let me know (pm) if you wish to know more about that area and how to get there.

I have been to Seurasaari before (very near to Hilton Hotel where I have stayed) and I love the Squirrels there. And yes, I planned to go there this time again. One of the Squirrel shots (taken with 30D) I took in my previous trip. :D
