Finally got the chance to play around with the new lens I bought... back at the start of January  As the sun was shining but the clouds were starting to gather I stayed in side and shot my lazy kitties... The colours are off because atm I'm without a decent editing programme (until the end of the month when I get paid!) so I've tried to hash them over in GIMP... Took me half an hour to find the 'reduce size' button

Be gentle :o

Muddling through with a 350D kit (Formally known as Arsene), 50mm f1.8 and a little bit o' luck.

Pretty cat, kiss_me_now. Congrats on your 50mm 1.8, you will find much use for it. Of the three images, I like the second best, she/he looks prettiest it it. All three seem a bit under-exposed, though. The eye is in good focus, but the DOF could be a bit less shallow. I've heard that GIMP is very capable but not as user friendly as what you can buy for good cash. But you have discovered this for yourself. BTW, if you are looking for C&C, you will get more feedback at the Critique Corner. Do you want Gentle or Honest? :)

PS: I like your screen name. Send a recent photo :) :)
