So the other week I bumped into a girl on the way back to my apartment, I'm holding a dior bag and she commented on how I must have had fun shopping. I told her it was my uniform and I work for dior and used to work for chanel and blah blah we just got talking. She was really nice and i said goodbye.
A week later I have a note on my car saying call me I need your advice, now I had no idea what she wanted. So I called. No answer, I got back to my apt and knocker on her door (she's my neighbour) and no answer, so I debated leaving my photography business card and a note saying to call me. I did it.
So she looks at my website and really likes my work, she then texts me and she wants advice on a chanel handbag 
But then proceeds to tell me her best friend is the owner of a magazine out here and if I ever want to talk to him about photography let her know. I jumped on it.
She showed him and the art director my website, they really liked it!
They asked if I could shoot something but because of my retail job, I couldn't.
So 2 days later I get an email off the owner and he wants to talk, 15 minutes later I'm the senior photographer full time on salary and with benefits and 401k! I couldn't believe my luck.
I've been doing it now for a week and I love every minute of it.
I just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone on here who helped me become a better photographer with critique and advice! Without this site I'm sure id still be doing retail!
