Nice car, nice girl, nice shot! :) I think it might've looked better if the girl and car weren't dead centre in the frame and I'm not keen on the vignette, but that's personal taste.

I like it. The flowing lines of the clouds on the left lead you to the girl's face. The lines of the parking lot edges lead you to the car, too. It looks a tad warm on my (uncalibrated) monitor, but that works, too. Well done. My only complaint is the burned-out piece of sky right at the back of the car. It looks like the car just shot that out of its rear window or something. Should be easy to clone that out, though.

I'm also not keen on the vignette, I haven't seen the rest of your stuff but vignettes are so overused. I think you could do with dialling down the saturation a notch too, as the girl does look an unnatural colour. On the plus side, I love the colours in the clouds and it's good that you've balanced them out. I also really like the cloud tones in the car's reflection, very nice. Did you use flash to light her a bit?

I think the over saturation was necessary to give the clouds (and the reflection) a bit of a pop. But the girl should have been masked out. Car and girls a little further off center (to the left).

That was my first idea as well. Then I did the one which I put up and compared... Now the car has somewhere to go and in the other crop it was dead right against the edge of the image..... It is the car and the girl that count.... not the background. But... my first crop was like you mentioned so it must have something :) Like this:

Smugmug is acting up.but i tried something ...will send as soon as it lets me:rolleyes:
We're awfully sorry, but SmugMug is currently in read-only mode. Here's why:

"The Sorcerers of Smug are adding new magic right now, so we're in window shopping mode. We'll provide more updates here on our Status Blog."

While in read-only mode, you and your visitors can still browse your photos and videos. You won't be able to login, buy prints, or add comments, however. SmugMug should be back soon, better than ever.

Thanks for your patience!

You lost most of the colour, Gail... I think the sky is great and only the skin colour of the girl needed some desaturation.

To each his (her) own:

I was actually going to suggest that flag be cloned out - my eyes keep focusing on that. :p

and like others have said, lose or at least make the vignette very subtle. How about a graduated ND filter on the sky instead - especially with Gail's version?

If it's in focus, it's pornography, if it's out of focus, it's art.
