I was inspired by Joe's recent insightful thread on becoming too entrenched in the way that we process images. I had an image that needed some help and remembered that Joe did used a trick that might help in this case. The trick was to move part of an image to improve compositional balance. I hated to crop out a nearby tree especially since I thought that it added some semblance of balance, but it really was not quite close enough to the egret. My solution: replant it closer to the egret. I am too biased to make a fair assessment so I would welcome any suggestions. I have a thick hide so do not worry that I will have my feelings hurt.
I am not quite sure what the great egret was doing, but since it was raining maybe he was looking up to see where the water was coming from.
