I started a project called 365 nights and I only have 1 rule which is to take photos after sunset. So far i'm on the 5th night and I would like to know what I can do to improve for the rest of the nights... thanks!

that is a quite a venture and I got to say I like em all. have you abunch of ideas written down to tide you over for awhile, or do you try to think of a new one everyday?

also that pizza in #2 looks really good :D

Thanks. I think most of the time I will have to try think of new ideas every night and it will be a challenge. POTN will be my motivation and I do have ideas that I'm saving for later plus holidays/special occasions to fill in the gap.

Do you think the text "night #" is too big? should i size it down a little? turn down the opacity?

I'm really diggin these! Love #2 with the pizza and Peyton on the tube. Care to share some of your post technique? That's the new animal I'm venturing into learning.

Great work!

Technically the exposures seem pretty good. I don't know that I love the processing on 4 and 5. My biggest problem is that aside from #2, there's little of any interest in shots. A Modells? A flood lamp?

#2 works because you're telling me a story. Though I'd like to see the vignetting removed from the TV. Make it more apparent that you're watching the SuperBowl.

Thanks! #2 seems to be everyone's favorite outside of this forum. Basically I used lightroom to make it contrasty, increase clarity, turn down the saturation a bit, increase exposure when necessary and then add vignetting if you want.

I agree with you there on #2 telling a story because that night it was an event people knew about. For the other pictures, what do you suggest that I do in a situation where there is no event, special occasions, holidays? I really need some ideas.

Please think of interesting subjects if you are going to do a 365.. Most of the members here that have done this have resorted to shooting self portraits, things on their desk, and things from their fridge within the first 2 weeks. Anyone can do 365 photos, the challenge is to rise to some creativity and not repeat yourself. Good luck, as its a hard hard challenge.

I like all of them but the 3rd is my favorite and reminds me of the "hatch" from lost.

Good luck with your adventure! I hope you have the discipline...
1. I would correct the tilting of the building.
2. I like it, but if possible I would re-crop so that the left hand is not "floating". I would burn the hotspot on the aluminum foil (remember the eye goes to the bright things) and next time try not to capture brands. Everyone knows it is a can of Coke, but try not to make it evident in your shot. Maybe you will sell one of your pictures and that would be a big no-no.
3.Interesting... nice color. It has some barrel distortion but it does not bother me.
4. Not interesting.
5. It would be nicer to see clean snow with nothing more than the footprints.
Again, good luck! Keep us posted with your pics.

I'm looking forward to seeing your collection. I would put the word 'night' in the same position each time, probably above the signature, I'd use the same font too, maybe a different colour or heavier typeface. good luck. JayJay
