USN P22 Based at Sandwich Quay. Kent. UK.

USN P22 was one of 17 high speed patrol vessels designed and paid for by the United States under the Marshall Plan to re-open and patrol the river Rhine at the end of the Second World War. The vessels were constructed in 1952 in Germany with German engines, and were amongst the first vessels to be built in Germany after the war.

Dover docks. UK.

Taken from a high spot overlooking the docks.
Image is a stitch of 4 pics in Photoshop. Scaling it to 1600px didn't do it any favours - neither did the the lens 24-105L IS.

Errrr? The sea seems to have dropped since 1969 Ray  Soon be like Sandwich?

Sorry mate, I couldn't resist that.

My ambition for a good while is to grow old disgracefully. So far my wife tells me that I am doing really well!

Dunno who said it, but, ‘Time and tide wait for no man’. As one of our ancient kings found out when he commanded the tide to go back. King Canute was his name - he must’ve been a silly old bugger.:-D:-D
I don’t think Folkstone Harbour is getting further away from the sea as are some of the other nearby coastal towns to the West.

Ray in the 1960 scan all the boat references start with FE
Does that mean they all part of same company?
Not sure how they designate boats etc.
I'm used to names like Betty, Salt of the sea etc.
