Ray in the 1960 scan all the boat references start with FE
Does that mean they all part of same company?
Not sure how they designate boats etc.
I'm used to names like Betty, Salt of the sea etc.

FE is the registration for Folkstone Richard

Richard, The fishing boat Port Ref here is RX - Port of Reg Rye and Hastings in Sussex just a few miles West along the coast from Kent.
The picture was taken at Hastings - errr; Yesterday! OK! OK! Well it seems like yesterday anyway.

Good grief Ray! I hadn't realised that they had infernal combustion engines in those daze mate

Hi John - That picture was taken in Hastings.
And yes, we did have internal combustion engines in those days - in fact my motorbike engine was bigger than, or as big as the average family car engine and, you always had to carry a toolbox full of tools and small spares, and, spare sparking plugs. But, petrol was about two shillings/Gallon (none of yer metricised litres or new pence stuff) and there great was comradery among most riders who would not pass a broken down motor cyclist without offering assistance.

Gene, Are you sure that is a shrimp boat - painted in navy colours? More likely to be a Russian spy trawler, if you ask me - that is!
