peat trestle in the north of the Netherlands. Was used in the past to transport peat, cattle and other cargo.

Utility boats at Qaanaaq, Greenland. These are on the other side of the pier from the freighter I posted a couple of days ago. They are not pleasure boats, in the far north there are few traditional jobs, and the fishing, hunting, and trapping these boats support is critical for many to make a living.

Mike, It certainly looks like a hard life in the Arctic Circle - Looking on the Google map Qaanaaq seems pretty isolated. Only a couple of freighters a year - I think we have got too accustomed to next day deliveries.
