Replica HM Bark Endeavor . The original was sailed by Captain Cook.

That's correct. Thanks for the info.

Nice capture, itsallart - nice.

Thank you, Ray.

Thanks for the history Capn Jack, I immediately saw the naval connection but wasn't sure of the connection.

Thanks again.

Nice.
There's some contrasts there on every front.
I've seen Endeavour but not out on open waters. Love to see it rounding Tasman Island or our Southwest in all its refinery.

Renata I wanted to ask, but never to derail a thread. How, as artist did you find our light? I know you've lived here, but early English artists weren't accustomed to our light.
We take it for granted, but it often comes up in conversation.
I imagine it also challenges photography, not just painting.

Belem
River Thames this morning. 12-Aug-2019
It was raining quite heavily, but as the ship was heading to the Queen Elizabeth II bridge the rain turned into a deluge of biblical proportions. I got soaked. The shore batteries must have been asleep again to let this Frenchman up our river.:-)

Ooops! I nearly forgot the Wiki Link:-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belem_(ship (external link))

Belem first appearing around a bend in the river.

Belem
River Thames this morning. 12-Aug-2019

Belem heading to the Queen Elizabeth II bridge and near disappearing in a heavy rainstorm. It was at this point in time that I had the choice of retreating to the car, getting soaked or getting the shot. I got soaked.:-(

Thanks for comment Annie. I hope you found the Wiki Link interesting.
Maybe my skin is waterproof - But I could have caught Pneumonia just for the sake of that shot.-?
The camera did get a bit wet but I sheltered it partly under my fleecy jacket - that got soaked as well.:-(
Anyway, just as a point of interest I have up-loaded those three pics onto marinetraffic - we'll see if the foggy pic gets through, eh!:-)
Regards

Atmosphere, pah! We should stop making fun of them - they might be reading this and then we would NEVER have anything used by them again
