Is there some sort of auto ban for posting too often too quick?

I keep running across members that have "This user is permanently banned from forums" under their name but their most recent posts are hardly ban worthy.

Please inform.

Thanks!

No, there is no auto ban feature in the software. Probably what you are seeing is a previously banned member who has returned under a new user name. Multiple identities will also get a member banned in short order.

Poe,

I think the 'most recent posts' from the banned member (along with any from other members that got caught up in the conversation) do not include the 'dodgy' post(s) that got them banned - They will be wiped out by 'The Management' never to be seen again.

Either that or the banning offence took place in PM's which happen more often that you would think.

If a member here is either banned or suspended and then returns in contravention of the ban/suspension, then they will be banned as soon as they are spotted - regardless of whether the posts made by the "new" member are against POTN rules or not.
