I just bought the 50d and i love it, it came as a kit and i got the 28-135 lens with it. I also bought a canon 75-300mm F/4-5.6 USM. I took it out to shoot some wildlife and i am not satisfied with the range at all. So question is , and I have around $300, should i go with a teleconverter, or buy a new lens and any sugestions on which ones would be very helpful.:D

Get some camoflage clothing and work on your ability to stalk closer to animals.

The 75-300 is not going to be good with any TC, and will require manual focus.

Everything longer than 300mm is either more than $1000 or pretty much crap.

As JeffreyG said, your 75-300 won't work and there really isn't anything over 300 that is within your budget sadly :(

A good place to start with teleconverters would be here https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=41922 .

I'd save your money towards a more telephoto lens.
