So I have one of those Impact collapsible reflectors 41x74" (external link). I've folded it a few times before with no problem. Tonite, I am having the hardest time folding it. The frame seems to be fine...it expands to its expanded form with no problem...but I can't seem to fold it back into a circle..

Anyone have this problem before?

Someone on the forums actually posted a video of how to fold one of those. I have one and don't have a problem but it took some practice. Try grabbing it by the ends and turning in opposite directions - it's a lot easier to show than explain.....

You need to twist each end in opposite directions, can be helped using a sofa/settee to wedge one end in, take a look at the various youtube (external link) videos.

I have just brought a 4 man tent that folds up the same way and that takes some doing to fold up, almost need 4 men to fold it!!!

I've been folding surveyors steel tapes for years with no problems. They fold the same way as the reflectors. Have had no problems folding the reflector until the other day and was unable to fold. Sat back, took a deep breath and did something else for a while. It then folded with no trouble.

Yeah, it's really frustrating when something has worked before multiple times and just stops working all of a sudden.. Edbee, that pretty much summarized last night. I would try the usual ways and get frustrated and then I'd let it sit there while I cool off...and try again lol.

If you still can't get it to fold take it outside and use as a large frisbee:wink:

I used to need to fold steel band saw blades, very sharp, one trick that I learned was to place one thumb pointing up and one thumb pointing down, then twist. works every time.

I dont have any of these reflectors to know for sure that they are the same, but my daughter has a "play tent" that is similar, and it has small flat metal bands sewn into pockets around the edges. Usually it folds up perfectly, but occasionally one of the bands will get twisted near a corner, and when that happens, it will ALMOST..... but not quite fold up right. I found that if it didnt fold right the first try, check to make sure the steel band around the edges feels like it is flat all the way around. If it is twisted, fix it and try again. Works every time.

I made part of it slow-motion. Hope this helps! :)

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)
