I am always reading, buried in different threads about a free piece of software. problem is I never, ever remember the thread it was in or write it down or bookmark it.

So I thought it would be a good idea to put together a single thread where people can share different free software/tools related to photography.

Please post directly with a link and a category it should be listed in, especially if I do not already have that specific category listed. I will try and update the list daily.

For GPS tagging:

EasyGps - to get tracks off most GPS units
GeoSetter - to actually do the tagging.

Raw Therapee is not a RAW viewer, Joe - it's an excellent, full-featured RAW converter.

I updated the post with the new additions and fixed this category.

Can I suggest two categories? Raw Viewers and Raw Converters?

As it is now, it looks like RT is a converter and a viewer - it would be an awful RAW viewer!

;)

You seriously forgot the best free RAW converter? You do realize the title is "FREE" not "OPEN SOURCE" or "SHAREWARE" right? DPP FTW

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

I have been torn as to whether to include places to get free actions. There is a sticky that is specific to that already. Maybe I will add it.

I added it. Didn't know if I should include it as it is a Canon specific thing (i know we are on a Canon forum).
