So I just got in a couple of YN-460's earlier in the week. Took them out of the box, tested all of the modes and power levels, and they both worked fine. Then today I was shooting some water drops and triggered both flashes off camera about 30 times. I let the flashes cool down, then I grabbed one (the now broken one) and put it on my camera to do some more shooting.

I hit the power button and it popped once before even turning on. I figured it was just releasing the stored power or whatever. Then I shot at the lowest power setting and it was taking abnormally long to charge back up. I tested it at a few different power settings and modes, and they are all putting out 1/1 power.

I'm curious to see if anybody else has had this problem and if there is a fix for it or if I should just contact yongnuo and try to get a new one.

One assumes you've done the usual of pull the batteries for half hour then slap in fresh ones?

i've changed the batteries, but haven't waited a half hour. I'll try that.

so you're saying the lights show a power level, for example "5" and when you measure it with a light meter it indicates the maximum full power "7" ?

Did what you suggested SwitchBlade, no change.

Pretty much. Even with the back panel showing any power setting, the flash will still put out the full amount of light (1/800s). I tested it by taking test shots with my working flash at all the different settings, keeping my camera settings the same, then used the "stuck" flash, and it was putting out the same light as the working flash at full (1/1) power.
