Was out at the ski jumping prelims on Friday. Here are a few shots that I was able to get. Just there as a spectator and had lens envy of all the pros at the event.

So those are with the 40D and 400mm f5.6? What's the rules for cameras there? I imagine that hill access is impossible by the way it looks on TV.

From EXIF, looks like 400 w/1.4x TC (560mm)

Thanks for the comments. The rules on cameras seemed to be that there weren't any rules. I was just in the regular spectator area and there were people in there with some pretty big lenses. These were shot with my new 7D and the 400 with 1.4 tc. It was hard to get sharp shots as I had no autofocus with that setup.

What works for me when I run two teleconverters together on my 200 and 40D is use a single focus point, but not the center one. The autofocus drags a bit, but still works!

Nice job, keep 'em coming.

You did well! I went to get some shots around Vancouver today and the Caldron is behind wire fencing and you can't get closer than 100', then went and had some awesome beer and brats at the Bavarian House, then went to check out the Live Downtown site and after we got in line someone with documentation around their neck came directly over to us and suggested we may not get in as my lens was too big! I asked what the criteria was and she said it was over 6 inches! I had taken the dreaded Canon 70 - 200 F2.8! At least we did not have to wait the 1 hour to get in! All this for a venue just to see Canada and Manitoba Houses and food, not even any events! Think the rest of my Olympics will be spent enjoyed on a large screen TV!

Your shots are awesome!
