Smoky Mountains in June

So I had posted a lot of questions back in September as my hubby and I were going to the Smokies in October. We had an amazing trip and it was so beautiful. Such an amazing trip that we are heading back in June . So have any of you been there that time of year? Do you think there will be more of a chance of us seeing bears then? We loved the color and everything in October but wanted to be able to see it a different time of year as well. Also the traffic was a nightmare in October. Any tips and suggesstions are appreciated!

It is certainly possible to see bears in June....I have seen bears on most of my visits to the Cataloochee area....plus there are the elk. Cades Cove is scheduled for major road repairs....so parts of it will be shut down.....as for the traffic....welcome to America's most visited national park. http://www.nps.gov/grs​m/index.htm is still your best bet for information on closures and associated info.
