So she charges $2100 for the 2 day class... I love her work, but is it really worth the $2100?? Has anyone gone to her posing class session? Was it worth it?

I have been wondering the same thing as well. That's a lot of money, I don't think I could justify that unless kids and baby photos was my only specific interest.

Same here... I would buy a DVD (OneLight for $200) but $2100 is alot for a workshop.

There are reviews on her website, but she posts those, why would she post a bad one? :)

The value is in how bad you need the help. If you are just starting out it might be worth twice that price. It is worth a lot to have poses lined up in your head before you start a session. And If you dont the session goes very awkwardly as you stand there thinking of poses. And when that happens you would pay just about anything to learn more poses. But if you have a bunch already that work well for you, the value of the class goes down.

Kelley Ryden ran a newborn photography workshop in Melbourne, Australia and required newborns less then 2 weeks old as models. My baby was 13 days old, so I took her as a model for a 3 hour session away from our home. I was not paid anything, but rather promised that I would be presented with a set of complimentary photos in return.
It is a year later, and I still do not have any photos from Kelley Ryden.
I have emailed Kelley Ryden multiple times throughout the year to ask where my photos are. She has constantly responded with - "I'm so busy" and "I have so many clients" and "I just haven't had time for your photos" Never an apology, just more and more excuses.
And sure, she's busy - we're all busy - but a whole YEAR?? Seriously. We sacrificed our time to be there at the workshop so that she could make a lot of money from the workshop attendees.
Look, her photos are beautiful but her customer service and her attitude stinks. Based on this alone, I would strongly recommend not using her.

$2K is a lot. I would be willing to spend a few hundred dollars for a few hour session with someone...but have yet to find it!

Obviously she is more interested in making big money giving these workshops than her photography business. If this is her common "business practice" for getting free models maybe people should think about boycotting these workshops. Over $2K seems an excessive amount for 2 days considering she does not pay models!

There is a wealth of information available for free on this forum which would probably be just as beneficial..:)

I would rather buy a new camera or equipment, there is a lot you can learn online, of course there is nothing better than hands on training, but I personally would not invest $2,000 in a workshop!

a lot of these Big Names are making money off teaching and not the photography. as long as there are people paying $2100.00,,they will keep taking the money. personally i think its a rip off. Not real hard to spend some time in magazines, the net, in books at your local book store, and figure out how to pose. you tube has a ton of videos. Not saying im an expert or anything remotely close but this to me is absurd. sandy puc has a seminar that costs 79.00..can get as much useful information attending one of these and buying her videos for about $200.00 total price. seems like money better spent to me.

Wow!! I can't believe that! I would be so upset. I could understand a month or two...but a year...that's ridiculous.

Definitely a rip off. Crowded room, can't see or hear anything. I got NOTHING out of my $2100's. Left in tears. So many better ways to invest in your business.
