There are several threads covering the UWA choices and the Tokina seems to win out in most (if not all) of them. There are a couple of Sigma offerings too.

But since you mentioned low light shooting, I doubt anyone will recommend anything other than the f2.8 Tokina.

Well i was originally going to go with Canon 10-22, Canon 24-105mm L, but then i went with the new canon 15-85mm as its had some really good reviews and seems to be a great lens... so im not to bothered about having the gap in my focal range :)

I love the 28mm. It's great for a walkaround lens and it's pretty compact. Focusing is very fast and I find it fairly usable at 1.8 and 2.0, and sharp from 2.2 and on. I usually take it when I walk around Philadelphia or going out with friends. Just a great all around lens. Only problem I find with it is the CA which doesn't seem to disappear completely even when stopping down. But I think the 10-22 and 28 makes a good team.

I like the extra reach of the 10-22

I'll be purchasing the Tokina the moment it becomes available agaiin at B&H. From what I have read and seen in reviews the Tokina whoops the Canon's butt.

I am waiting as well for the Tokina DX II... Nobody has an idea when it will be in though.

Ebay has a few, and only one dealer from the USA. I sent him a message about if they were USA-warrantied or not. So we will see. Price is like $540 shipped but with 10% bing it comes down to about $490, which is not bad. Just depends how soon you want it...

Theres only one Tokina DX II, its the 12-24 f/4 PRO DX II. There isn't a II version of the 11-16mm out yet.
