The Tokina is probably the best wide angle for the money for FF and crop.

There's a thread somewhere out there comparing it to the 14L

+1. The canon really is overpriced for what it is. My biggest gripe with it is that at 10mm, f3.5, it vignettes like crazy.

the tokina is a gem, and people who don't buy it because it's "tokina" are just missing out because the build is there, the aperture is there, and photo IQ is definitely there!

 Scrub the Canon because it's an overpriced turd which vignettes like crazy. Scrub the Sigma because it's IQ isn't very good. Scrub the Tokina because I'll be dead and buried before it ever arrives in the country again.

Looks like I'm just not meant to have a UWA lens.

notice that this is the only complaint about the toke. It's a highly prized lens, and because they have low stock, the resale value of this 3rd party lens still remains quite high. (well that and CA and flare... but shhhh... you didn't hear that from me...)

Absolutely. And I'd nick out and buy one right this minute - if there were any available in this country. I really don't know if I'd order online from the US because of the potential problems with warranty etc but I've checked and B & H don't have the Canon mount available.

The CAs are only visible in the extreme corners....and even then converting from RAW fixes them. Flare is a problem, but I was only ever to get it to do it one time while actually using it....and it was in damn near direct sunlight.

Would you like to buy a vowel?

+1 to tokina. I love the fuction of switching from AF to MF, just pull the focus ring back. Every lens should be like that

The Canon 10-22 is an overpriced turd.

Some people like to look for nicknames for lenses, perhaps this would be a good and fitting nickname for the 10-22mm. Not sure about the turd part, but it sure is overpriced compared to the magnificent Tokina 11-16mm 2.8. When you charge more than your competitor, you should have a faster lens with a better build and better IQ. But the Canon loses in all 3 catagories. Go figure.
