Any reader heard of problems with the 50D shutter release? Mine will focus ok, however when I go to push the button to take the shot, it wont take the shot?
Battery and CF card checked and fitted correctly.
Rang my local Canon service centre, they said they have had a few problems with the 50D shutter release and to bring it in.

do a search for "shutter button failure". The issue is pretty well documeted. It appears to be relatively common to all xxD body, as new as 1 year into service. Canon also know the issue, they fix it for my 30D after two monthes out of warranty.

eelnoraa,
Got the 50D back from the Canon Service Centre here in Sydney yesterday, turned out they had to replace "switch, release mechanism". Working fine again now.
