I recently just got the GGS glass LCD cover for my 7D. Now I know the back cover is already a cover to the LCD, yes, but until I know for sure I can swap out that screen if it should get damaged (with the special gapless "filler" Canon claim they use), I want to make sure it is protected. Remember, the 7D screen is not the same as most others.

I got the cover for $12 from in the USA (you can get it from Hong Kong for $6 or so?) and got it the other day.

I placed the cover on and must say, I am VERY impressed. Leaps and bounds better than any "cover" or "vinyl-sticker", as it is a firm piece of laminated glass. No air bubbles (no chance), super easy placement, and very high quality. Adhesive is strong but not "indestructible"

The cover does not ruin any of the 7D LCD resolution at all. Really, I forget that it is even there it looks that good. Very impressed. Did not increase reflections or lose any contrast. It is like nothing is on there at all, looks very "stock/OEM".

I highly recommend, for those who care about protecting the "protector", that you buy the GGS. It is really perfect! And if you buy from HK, $6 is nothing to lose. If it should get destroyed along the way, removal is very easy. Just pry around the edges and it will come off. Then you may have to remove some minor adhesive with alcohol or something of the sort, then replace with a new GGS :)

I just wish they sold one for the top information display... Do they make one for another model that would be able to be used with the 7D by chance?

I just wanted to let others know who are looking for a protector, that this is the best you will come by. Don't waste time with vinyl/plastic saran-wrap type materials. Glass is the way to go.
