Fantastic shots Helge, we've got a cruise trip planned from Tromso to Trondheim January 2nd-5th next year [new moon] to hopefully catch something. Fingers crossed the clouds and solar radiation play ball!

Self portrait, proof in fact you were there. These are some of the best Aurora Borealis shots I've seen, esp the reflection shots. Awesome.

This is my favorite spot. And easpecially when you have the reflection like this. I am always on the hunt for a better location but I always end up in this fjord. Mostly because this is located North West and that is how the northern lights goes. I still need a shot with a reflection and the light emerging from the end of the fjord.

Yeah, it is a great sight when it is good and clear weather. Here it doesn't get too cold in the winter compared to Fairbanks and NW Canada. So you can easily stay out all night.
I just wish it had been dark outside also in the summer since the activity from the sun is very high at the moment. So now we have the midnight sun instead :)
