Goldfinch in the snow

I am a newbie with my camera and lens: Canon XSi and Sigma 150-500 mm OS. We had a rare (every decade or so) snow day. I hid in the kid's playhouse and used it as a bird blind. I set up a branch on a shepherd's hook in hopes that a bird would land there while visiting the bird feeder. I recycled the Christmas tree to provide a nice background and hide the house and toys. This is my first post.

Welcome to the Forum, not too bad for a first post, though looks a tad soft. Did you add any sharpening after downsizing?

No, I didn't sharpen. I even had to figure out how to downsize. I am also in a steep learning curve with PhotoShop Elements 8.0. I will be so glad when some of this is second nature. I am ready to put the instruction booklets down. (I never did figure out how to change pixel size in PSE8. I finally resorted to using Photobucket to resize.)

The original image did look sharper on my computer.
