I shoot portraits in the studio. I shoot raw + small jpeg for client proofs. The jpegs all turn out with a disgusting deep red cast in skin tones, and I can't use them for pro proofs. My white balance is always custom and checked out, so it's not that. This appears to be only in the studio. I use Norman and Novatron strobes; never had any problems with them in the past. Any suggestions?

Have you changed anything in Picture Styles? That would be the most likely culprit, if the RAW files aren't showing the cast.

It'll be quicker and easier if you post pictures with EXIF attached.

Please describe this part in greater detail since a problem with WB or picture style seems most likely on the face of it.

I have changed Picture Style, tried to customize it for portraits, but white balance is always taken with a grey card. Here's a sample of the problem. (I sorry to admit -- I'm new to these wonderful forums, and not sure how to attach an image. Any advice appreciated) Users/tombloom/Desktop/Red test.jpg

When you reply to this post, click the "Go Advanced" button rather than just typing the text. That will bring up the field to type in, but also a bunch of other options for your post. One of those options is a button called "Manage Attachments", which will let you browse your PC file system and upload your test image.

Sure sounds like you're not getting WB set correctly, to me.

Color shift/temp and saturation in your picture style affect the appearance of skin color even if the white balance is correct.

What kind of lights were you using? What power settings. Some studio strobes shift colors toward red at the bottom of their power scale. its a common complaint with Alien bees at power settings below 1/8 power.
