It is that time yet again. Volume 4 of the POTN Coffee Table Book starts soon. But before we can begin we need some volunteers. We have had some great volunteers over the years and they are the ones that make the book come together.

We are looking for:

16 Image Managers (IM)

Duties: Responsible for 1 chapter. Receive submissions via email through the submission form, verify all information is correct and conforms with the Terms & Conditions. Coordinate with the submittors to resolve questions and get needed clarifications. Also may have questions from submittors that need answers. Manages SmugMug Galleries through out the votining process. Needed photographic skills are moderate - should be comnforatbale with email and managing files and information.

16 Panel Members (PM)

Duties: As in the past volumes, PM's have the key responsiblity for assesing photographic image quality and selection of the second 50% of the images for the book. Experince in judging photographs for composure, impact and quality is valuable. PM's also evaluate photos for PRINTABILITY, chapter correctness. Each PM will participate in 4 chapters.

4 Page Assemblers (PA)

Duties: Collect images and text from IMs and assemble them in Photoshop templates. Guide photo sequencing in book chapters and text formating for each image. No special photo or text editing skills are requried for this job. Assembliy for a book chapter takes about 1-2 hours depending on the number of selected images.

For IMs the process will start 1 March and finish about 1 August.
For the PMs the process will start 1 March and finish about 1 July.
For PAs the process will start about 15 July and finish about 15 October.

If you are ready willing and able to participate, please post below and one of the Book Committee (BC) members will be in touch.

If you have questions please ask.

Eric

I am newish to photography and these forums (only a couple months) but I love the community and dedication here and would love to help. What role would be best for a newer photographer and member like myself?

No, sorry, there is no kind of compensation with the exception of the personal rewards from being apart of the team.

Well let me ask you this, which of the three jobs do you feel you are qualified for? If you don't feel qualified for PM but do think you have the organization and techincal skills for IM or PA, choose one of them.

Both jobs seem doable to me, but it seems we need more IM's than PA's so I guess I'll sign up for that =)

Is there a link that explains more about the history and details of these books? I am still new here and would like to know more. (Like whose photos are in there? How did they get in there? etc.) Thanks.

I'd like to be involved, preferably as a PM, second choice IM. :)

I guess re-reading the IM position I could do that as well. So either IM or PM.
