2nd day with XS and kit lens (first DSLR)

so i took about 500 pics ok my brother riding yesterday, need some comments and suggestions about anything really, i need to work on frameing and composition. focus was off on a lot of theses, i was useing XS with 18-55 kit but i think most of the focus and motion blur problems were my fault. here are some examples:

Nifty- I think you are doing pretty damn good for a first try for sure. Motocross is difficult. Until you get a longer lens, just crop these tighter. I would chuck 4 and 7 because they are from behind and just chalk them up to experience gained. If 3 is not an intentional tracking shot, you can see that this technique is worth experimenting with. If I remember, start around 1/50th and adjust both ways to see which works best with the bike speed and your distance. Although I feared for your lens, I like #2. These are the times to use that UV/skylight filter for protection!

If you can include the EXIF data in your posts, it will help the people here to help you. Buy some gas for your brother and head back out - get some head-on shots.
