Today I tried to register on FredMiranda.com. After filling out the registration form, I was told that I cannot join because FredMiranda.com does not accept members who list an email address that is from a "free" email provider, such as Yahoo. Hmmmm. Seemed weird, so I signed up for a Gmail account. Then I tried to re-register on FredMiranda.com with the new Gmail address. Yep - same thing - they wouldn't accept me because Gmail is still free, just like Yahoo. This is really frustrating. It is hard to believe that they will not allow me to join their forum, simply because I don't pay for my email. I'm not cheap - I simply don't want the potential problems that can come from having an email address that I pay for. But it seems strange that a photography site like FM would actually be prejudiced against me because I use a free email account. I know that supposedly they have this policy to prevent a bunch of fraudulent memberships from popping up on their site, but when such a policy keeps a simple, honest photographer from joining a site it seems to be taking things too far.

Has anyone else had this problem when attempting to join FM? Has anyone found a way around this policy? I would really like to join to FM - I feel that I can contribute to their forums and help some folks. Please help me if you can.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Usually your ISP will provide you with an email, that's what I used to register for FM and then swapped over to my gmail account. Although, yes, that is one of their policies to help cut down on spammers.

Apparently I've been dubbed Foxy.

I belong to another site that has the same policy, but they do provide an e-mail address and will work with people if they just e-mail and ask. Once when I went looking for an admin e-mail for FM I couldn't find one. There's no way to contact them unless you're already a member. I guess they don't want to be bothered.
