I get the dreaded Err 01 with an old Sigma 18 f/3.5. I finally figured out it only happens when at anything other than wide open. Depth of field preview won't work because the lens won't stop down.
Is this repairable and if so, worth it?

Feb 17, 2010 10:03 | #4 Thank you very much. The lens is from the 90's and has been sitting unused for many years. Feb 21, 2010 12:34 | #6 Sigma said they can't repair it because it's too old and they don't have parts for it. I'm very sad. I liked this lens and it's just what I need. But it's my third Sigma to bite the dust. Even so I may get the Sigma 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 for $80. It's all I can afford. I don't use it much, just like to have it for now and then.
