Wondering why your penium 4 desktop is sluggish or doesn't play HD video?

Yes, the difference is THAT big. The monster Pentium 4 670 (clocks in at 3.8GH) gets less performance than the cheapest i3 processor.

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

I'm actually a little surprised that only the i7 really beats my system (external link) right now - at least within a price to performance margin. The high end i5 does a little better, but not enough to warrant such an expensive upgrade for so little return.

So, if you have a Q6600 or higher, you should probably wait a little longer to upgrade and then only to the i7 or i5 750 (if even that). My 9650 seems to still be hanging in there :)

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the pentium 4 is the worst processor ever made? LOL
