I have posted one of these images recently, but have since reworked the image. So the orange guys are three different Ensatina eschscholtzii oregonensis and are intergrades with Yellow-eyed Ensatina common in the Bay Area.

The darker, spotted guy is an Arboreal Salamander also common in the Bay Area.

I'm trying to decide whether these are too "cool" or if it properly conveys the sub-canopy feel of where they were shot. I may warm them up a bit, not sure.

All were f18-22 exposures ranged from 2.5"-6" and were shot with an ISO 100. Rebel XTi with sigma 17-70.

Comments and critiques welcome.

I like them as-is. Very nice shots.

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.

Sorry, I had to pull these down for a brief time - they are up again and I added one more for good measure

After studying them I believe that picture number four is *the one* somehow I like the face to face aspect of this creature. The texture of the green leaves against the orange tone of his skin works well.
