$20 spill reflector verses $0.80 pie dish

I love Paul Buff's stuff but $20 for a spill kill reflector for open bulb shots?

10" heavy duty pie dish with hole cut with razor blade worked great.

$20 is a bargain. You should look at profoto gear. Have your heart pills nearby. I paid about $800 for two reflectors and three grids. Another $600 for a beauty dish and grid.

Wow, profoto is a little overpriced. I made two beauty dishes for $30 haha and am in the process of making a grid for it.

Then again, would $20 really break the bank?

One of the regions largest and most respected fashion photographer (and /TVC directors uses disposable paper plates, silver cake holders and disposable table cloths which probably cost a few cents as ground reflectors, as well as junked cardboard boxes to shield his several $K Apple computer. I figure you're in good company. :D

Editing welcome :D

You don't actually need it at all. Even Paul Buff says so.

Now that's funny - your equipment list would indicate you don't mind spending money on photography but you balk at a $20 reflector.
