Never shot anything directly into sunlight before. Can't decide if I'm a fan or not... Feel like it takes away from colors/ details?

With the sun a little farther to the side & almost set, that's actually one of my favorite ways to shoot a car.

I like the shot, but looking in the side, I see a lot of trees reflected from camera-left. Try to be aware of those reflections the next time you shoot it.

How can I go about killing the reflections on the side for net time? Thanks !

You mean, "...for next time?"? Reflections from the trees?
Problem is that I want the reflections from the sky, but not the ones from the trees. Some guys like using a CP (Circular Polarizer) but that also kills the sky & makes rainbows from some headlight covers. In the studio we used a white flat. My best solution is to find a location where things besides the sky aren't there to reflect in the side.
Have you ever looked at the links in my Sig?

Yep, for next time, just trying to learn how to do car photography; at least next time i will be more aware of my surroundings and choose a different location. And I have not checked them out, I will go through them now.

I say clear coat it, new tires and fix it mechanically. I love the patina.

Yes, I went on Thursday which was the first media day, there was very little happening there. Next year I suggest that you talk to someone who can get you a media pass, it's easier than you would expect.
