Thanku I have a 12x24ft lightbank that I place the car under the front edge of the box.. this basically rim lights the body lines of the car i then darken the lower part of the car in post to create the final image

Yes, you've got the "1/2 a car thing" down pretty well. Someday I hope that you'll add a couple of flats & light the whole car.
