What kind of light setup are you using?

These images were shot with a single soft box that I used, handheld. As the EXIF shows, the exposure was 4 sec. the camera was on a tripod and I was able to walk around the vehicle, between the vehicle and the camera, and light paint with the soft box.

In some composite images I made, I combined a base shot like these with additional images where I lit portions of the vehicle I wanted to accent- I combined these images with the base image to effectively get the results of a multi-light shot.

Moving the soft box across the vehicle also provides more diffuse light from a seemingly larger, softer light source. See the large lit area on the floor, for example. It is that large because I walked an arc from left to right, across the vehicle.

I used a 36"x48" soft box and the images were shot in a dark storage building.

Can you please link me to the exact box that you have?

I am trying to purchase something but not sure where to start.

Right now I have a small light that doesn't really provide enough power. Quick unedited pic below

It is a Wescott 36x48 softbox with a continuous light, six lamp head. The head originally came with high CRI CFL bulbs, but they are fragile. I replaced them with LED units from Home Depot. The head has three switches on the back so you can switch power to pairs of bulbs, permitting control over the light output and exposure in the above use case.

I will search for specific links.

Kirk.

Kit with shallow softbox: https://www.bhphotovideo.com …_TD6_Shallow_Softbox.html (external link)

The LED lamps are similar to this one, a "corn cob" style lamp: http://www.homedepot.com …ht-Bulb-0516600/300958121 (external link)

If you can find a link that would be great :)

Thank you! That was great light at the end of a long day of shooting. Total luck.
