But I have yet to get a macro lens, darn it! Can't afford it among all the other things in life that come first. Anyway, I finally got around to trying out my kit lens in reverse, and was totally pleased with the results. Although I know these aren't "true" macro by any means, this is still the closest I have been able to get to an object. The cat's eye was taken with the lens at 55mm, so I have no clue as to what the real life magnification would be. It was also at 800 ISO, but for the life of me, I can't remember the rest of the specs. Oh, and you guys aren't kidding about the shallow DOF. It's tons of fun with a cat that isn't tickled about you taking pics of him just a few inches from his face, either! :D

Wow! That looks really good for a reversed kit lens. I've tried that trick before but the results weren't that good.

LOL! I bet I had about 100 shots total and this was the only keeper of his eye. In most of them, his eye was too dark, or he had it half closed. Luckily, I had birds with feed outside, which is what he kept staring at. So eventually, he forgot about my camera in his face. Thanks!
