I'm looking to pick up one or the either.

Right now I'm using my Camulet ones I picked up somewhile back.

But I'm thinking about buying one or the other brand.

Any recommendations ?
Issues ?
Pros?
Cons?

Thanks

cybers are inexpensive and never misfire. That sums it up.

^^^^^^
Unless you need to trigger them from over 400 yards (and why would you?) then there is really no reason to get anything other than cybersyncs.

Newer PWs (FlexTT5 and miniTT1) have the Hypersync feature, allowing you to fire past the 1/250th sync speed without having to resort to using HSS, up to 1/500 easily. This is also stopping me from getting Cybersyncs and never regret passing on the PW's.

The newer PW can also give you E-TTL metering (with Canon units).

Also of note, is that some units in the Cyber Sync line can remotely control (power level) Alien Bee studio strobes.

I have CS and no problems. Except now when I am shooting with others I need to use PW Plus II. So I am going from CS to PW PLus II.

Couple of points in favor of Plus IIs:

1. I can use the integrated radio module in my L358. I can do same by holding CST in my hand though.
2. Using miniTT1 on my camera and Plus IIs on my hot shoe flash I can get 1/500 sync speed using 1dmk2 and 1/250 with 5d without any black bar.

Of course Plus II are more expensive.

I'm happy enough with my CS.

Only issue with them is they can't see round corners very well. They are a 'line of sight' trigger to some extent. Anything like concrete/steel will interfere with the reception.

Not a big deal really, but something you need to be aware of.

They will go through walls fine so I have to disagree with your description. I understand your point about steel and concrete messing with reception but calling them line of sight is a leap.

The one thing I like about the PW II is that they both transmit and receive so if one PWII goes bad you you can just buy the same one. And you don't have to buy two separate for receiver and transmitter.

Another vote for the Cybersync products. On recommendations here at POTN, I went with them. They work as advertised and perform flawlessly. Very satisfied customer here.

Enough that you could keep an extra cybersync trigger and receiver on hand for redundancy.

Really?

I have used the cybersync models (CST and CSRB) as well as the El Skyports. Both will fire through cinder block walls such as those found in high school gyms. I usually try it just to see if they will...and they do.

BTW, I fired the Alien Bees with Cybersync's today - 1200 pops worth in 7 basketball games. No misfires.

I have both 3x flexTT5's and cybersyncs.

I'm really appreciating on camera control of ETTL with the PW flex units (with AC5 sock). The PW's were spendy but now I can shoot wideopen in bright days using the PW's using eTTL.

Well then yours are broken...;)

Inside of a rough 1/4 mile, mine fire 100% ALL the time time, every time...through buildings, water, people, around radio towers, in airplanes, up stairs, in a box, on a fox, here or there, everywhere...

Call PCB up and have them take a look at yours if their not firing 100%...they will make them right.

Nobody cares about your gear list...
