I just read about a local photographer, Dale Kobetich, that had a nice up close and personal photo session with a mako shark recently. He was free diving under the Newport Beach pier when he took a picture of what he thought was a seal coming up to him. Until he looked at the shot. The funny thing is, there were people up on the pier watching this and had no idea that was a shark and that he was in trouble.

Here's the story - http://www.surfline.com …age-and-calmness_40419/1/ (external link)

Very interesting story, especially for those of us in SoCal that are divers. Thank you for sharing.

Update: it appears Dale lied and it's a dead mako, that's pretty lame of him.

I wonder what people would have thought of the photo if he had just admitted it up front? Is it a cool photo without the original story that went along with it? Or is it just a snapshot?

Just bored and spiting out random stuff.
