Jack Daniels, Bottle #1 (lightbox)

Been playing a lot with my lightbox that I have built. If anyone has any ideas on how to mix things up a bit more aside form just shooting in the box, let me know!

Little back story on this bottle:

A few years ago, my Uncle's father passed away. Recently, he went to his house, to get some things, and found a bunch of boxes in the attic that nobody had touched. They were all filled with booze from the 1960's - 1990's. Most of it was whiskey and scotch. My uncle hates that stuff, and he knows I loved it, so he took what he liked, and gave the rest to me. Included was a special bottle of J.D. numbered 1. I thought it would be a good subject.

I'd be cracking open that bottle of JD for a sip. It's cool to keep things like that, but I'm a firm believer in not letting them go to waste and to enjoy them for yourself.

I am tempted, believe me. Going to try to get a hold of JD to see if they can give me some more info on the bottle before I do. Also, I have a whole shelf full of scotch, whiskey, and bourbon, all of which are cracked and thoroughly tapped into 8) Figured I can save one bottle.

I believe that bottle is known as the Tribute to Tennesse, 1982 edition.

Since the 1904 World's Fair introduced Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey to the world, it only seemed right that the Distillery commemorate the occasion of a World's Fair held in Mr. Jack's home state.
This 1.75-liter bottle honored both the 1982 World's Fair held in Knoxville, Tennessee and Mr. Jack's strong affection for the land and friendly people of the "Volunteer State."

Folks who registered a Tribute to Tennessee bottle with the Distillery originally received an engraved nameplate instead of a registration certificate. Unfortunately, these nameplates are no longer available, and anyone who registers the bottle will now receive a special letter from the Distillery.

The empty bottle last sold on eBay for $45. It would be a shame to not taste it though a full sealed bottle could possibly bring over $1000 at auction (not eBay), being the #1 bottle...maybe even more. Personally it would be priceless to me. I would drink some of it and save the rest for another 30 years.

In fact, I just looked at the label again, it says right on the bottle that it's the Tribute to Tennessee edition. 1982 for sure. Though I believe it's been opened looking at the seal, it seems to have been carefully peeled back which is why there are tears. Generally the bottles are filled up through the neck, in fact the sample photo on JD's website shows what an original bottle looks like and its' filled through the neck.

Naa, it is just old and decayed -- definitely not opened. I looked around a bit online, and the other bottles were also filled to the same level.

Its not Bottle Number 1, it is from Bottling Number 1. Its part of the first batch bottled, which is still probably worth a lot to a collector.

Oh yea, cool shots to. I think No. 6 is my favorite.

Yeah, I would not open it. I would reshoot though, after using a microfiber cloth to polish the glass and then do something to move the lights so they aren't reflected in the glass. Use a real tent?

Well, I don't have a real tent, just going to have to work with the one I have. I agree though, the reflection is sort of distracting.
