Why you shootin burst?

Well, I was looking to get a sequence in, haha. Ya, it didn't work out too well. Live and learn, still a bit of learning for me to go.

Sorry, I'm just curious here... why wouldn't you? Is it just because 3fps is not fast enough?

Ya, pretty much. The most important part is to capture the board in the right spot and having 3fps doesn't get it most times if you are going to shoot burst. That's why you see most dedicated skate photographers shoot with a 1d.

Ah, that's what I thought. Thanks for clearing it up.

So if you can only shoot 3fps, is it better to just wait for the right moment and try to get one shot at the right time? Or do you still have better success shooting burst?

It would be better to shoot at the right moment, although I have had some success with a few sequences on 3fps burst. On the slow fps, it's better to use it during grinding shots, rather than flipping shots.

It's so much better to rely on your EYE rather than the CAMERA to give you what you want when you are shooting action. As opposed to getting 8 shots that are all not really what you want, if you time it right you get one shot that is exactly what you want. Timing isn't hard, you just gotta watch and click. Save the burst shooting for the newbies.
