That is a nice shot. I would lower the levels on his face and arms as they are little bit on hot side. Next time when framing, leave the empty space on side where the rider is looking/going.
Good choice of shutter speed to keep the subject sharp but you can still get the motion feel from tires. Just dont go higher than that as it will kill the speed feel :D

I agree with the highlights being a little blown out, could use a little cooling down in pp or a little saturation added, but overall a nice composition...keep pushing that trigger!

Thanks for the input. The highlights did not look as blown out before I put them on the web, but I need to see if I fix that. The strobe on the right was a little too close/bright. Thats also why it is composed so tight.. there was not very much room to place the lights in that turn. Overall, I am happy with the shot, and I am loving my new-to-me 70-200 f/2.8!

70-200 is an excellent lens for shooting sport

Yes this lens seems to be "the holy grail" of sports photographers....look into renting or buying the 100-400L, it is an awesome lens with a little more reach too! Keep pressing that trigger.
