I took some pictures here (https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=823208) and received comments on a general theme about the light fall off and blending into the background. Here is my second take. Am I getting closer?

The shadow should extend downward and to camera right. Catchlights should be at the 10 o'clock position. The camera-right side of her head is a bit dark and blends in with the background. With a bit of tweaking of the lights you can really nail this portrait. Gently lighting the background and her hair and shoulder would be good, too.

You need more light on her hair especially in the first one. A reflector would be an easy solution just a piece of white foam core or a piece of mylar both inexpensive solutions found at most art supply stores. Keep working and keep showing the results. Zeltsman Guide to Classic Portraiture. http://jzportraits.home.att.net/ There's much to be learned there, especially the art of posing. Thanks for this link, certainly one to add for the bookmarks.
