Neat spot, Jeff... looks like the lighting was murder to work with, on that second shot. That must have been tough.

Thanks!
There was a street lamp to the left that was throwing off some weird orange light, the porch lights were yellow and daylight lamps from a golf course behind me. First time I'd been there at night, I was hoping to get the stars over the dam but all the lights messed up that plan.

Ha.. yeah, that's atrocious. Sodium lamps are the devil!

I hate when I think I've got a spot picked out, get there... and then find the whole thing is covered in Sodium vapor lamps. Ugh.

Sometimes, they can be used to your advantage, as you did here... but usually, they just suck. :D

its a nice composition, taemo, but might i suggest a tripod so you can decrease the apeture, bump up the speed, and lower the ISO... that way we could see more of the details, more crisply/sharply, and still get that lovely "dark night" feeling.

A little bit of spinning last night. I was able to get this one, very large.. a bit larger than I was expecting actually as I'm standing on a bridge that is fairly well traveled (although this was about 2am) and I was shooting alone (trying to light, spin, open camera, watch for cars, etc..) sheeeew!
