Ah, that’s nice. Love the conversion, Ras!

thanks Todd!

this is kinda big but I wanted to make sure you saw all the details :) also, I know its weird angle, this is a special case, this shot came together spontaneously with me placing the camera on top of a newsstand box as I sometimes do, I just happened to be walking by there with a friend and saw these columns lit like this, I've never seen this before because I've never been in this area at this specific time. I actually rattled off the 3 exposures mistakenly at ISO 640 and wanted to redo at ISO 100, but IMMEDIATELY after I took the shots, the lights turned off - it was 10pm. Weird how that happened.

I don't know about that...:) I live at the border of orange and yellow (albeit at 9,000' elevation), but can do decent astrophotography from my backyard...
- Andromeda w/ 70-200L (external link) -- I can see Andromeda with the naked eye
- Milky Way widefield w/ 70-200m (external link) -- can see many of these w/ the naked eye as well
- Orion widefield w/ 28-300L (external link)

Holy crap! Nice... but... Andromeda w/ the naked eye? That clear? I need to go to your house.

Thanks, and yes, Andromeda with the naked eye. Mind you, it shows as a very faint gray smudge only, but it is visible. I do live at 9,000 feet above sea level with very dry air, so that helps.

If you read the Bortle scale definitions (external link) (the color zones used for the map), you should be able to see Andromeda from a red zone.
