I'm not sure if the G11 has mirror lock up ...screw listing gear,it just sets up preconceived notions...but if you must link

Mar 04, 2010 10:13 | #49 When you take night pictures it is best if you still have light in the sky. A black sky is very uninteresting. Try to shoot during the first 20-30 minutes after sundown; you will have the best light. Juan

You just leaned it on that little wall? juanpafer wrote in post #9727377 When you take night pictures it is best if you still have light in the sky. A black sky is very uninteresting. Try to shoot during the first 20-30 minutes after sundown; you will have the best light. Have a sturdy tripod, use a remote or delayed timer, mirror lock-up (if using SLR...) and bracket your exposures; take at least 3 different exposures of the same scene because you don't really know how they look until you get to a big screen. When you color-balance try to go towards the magentas as this will balance the fluorescent lights of most nightscapes and make them more pleasant. Tnx guys...Juan I am aware of the "black sky effect" and the 1st set of photos in the thread is done well and there I did use 2sec timer and around 5 different expos untill I got what I wanted. It was much more windier than the other night...This time I didn't use the timmer, big diferance, huh. my.com
