Jon, I'm now a Coloradan! I am living up in Florissant now.

Very cool Todd, welcome to CO! I see you have wasted no time in taking advantage of the local flavor. Nicely done I might add.

I'm on the north side of Denver, so only a couple hours away. I'd love to get out and shoot with you one night. Let's plan something.

Definitely! We'll plan a shoot... I haven't been north yet. I've been exploring the ghost towns near me, and working my way outward.

Looking forward to many of the passes opening soon. I tried to get to Tin Cup the other night, but only got halfway before snow pack.

You're in a great place for it! Well done on St. Elmo's. That's a tough place to shoot well because of the street lamps. The best ghost town I've been to so far is Ashcroft outside of Aspen.

It's been a really crazy year, with the amount of snow the mountains are getting. We were at Mayflower Gulch last weekend and the depth of snow pack was crazy, not to mention we were just beating the storm that's still dumping there today.

Thanks for the comment Ron and sorry I haven't made it public yet on Flickr. This is a blend of two images one for the rock and one for the sky. The EXIF information is: 14mm, f/2.8 on both, 241 sec & ISO 100 and 30 sec & ISO 1600.

I was surprised how mush light you gathered under the rock overhang.. was the moon helping in that?

Thanks Ron. Yeah, it seems that is the case. The angle of the moon was pretty low and the ray's hitting the rock must have bounced off and lit the shadows. I took several shots light painting the shadow areas, but during processing I found the angle of the light didn't work well and I was able to bring out the shadows without having to go with those other photo's.
