I have copyright, users and email information in my camera (in case it's lost) and want it in my picture files.

When I import my pictures the data shows up in the meta data area.
After I PP everything and save it to web or device and post it, all the copyright and Exif data is stripped away. I have the box set to all in CS4, but it never adds it

I'm new to Photoshop, so could someone help me with this issue. Thanks.

Don't use 'save for web or device' - use 'save as' instead and all EXIF/Meta will be intact.

Thanks.

I just couldn't figure out why it would give the option to save the data, but didn't.

How are you checking the Exif in the saved file? I don't have CS4 (CS3 doesn't have the Exif option in Save For Web) but CS4 evidently does, but if you are uploading to the Web the Web software may strip it (it does for smaller sizes with my PBase pictures). Are you checking on the Web or checking with an Exif viewer with the file on your computer?

Someone brought up a similar problem in a thread here a couple days ago, but using Save As. I don't know what the answer is...you should get the exif until some software re-processes it and saves a stripped-down version.

I have been uploading my pictures to our motorcycle forum for the last year or so without the metadata being stripped. As soon as I started to use CS4 and save for web, all the metadata disappeared.

I'll save one as advised to test the fix. Be right back with the answer.

It's my watermark software that's actually causing the issue. Thanks for the help.

Ah, there you go -- any time you let software mess with your photos, there could be unforseen consequences:). I wonder if there's a workaround for that?

Yeah ;) Add the watermark in CS4 and forget about the standalone software bw!
