Am I reading it wrong or is the 17-50 VERY similar if not worse than the 18-50?

I'm currently deciding between canon 17-55 or tamron/sigma 17-50. Wish it would be released already for reviews!

Where are you reading this? I have not seen any reviews yet, and no, it is not worse because it has HSM and possibly better OS.

tamron is a good investment.
